Empowering Egypt’s Youth Through Sustainability HEROEZ

At TOTZ, we believe the future of sustainability in Egypt lies in the hands of its youth. With more than 60% of Egypt’s population under the age of 25, young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow, they are the change-makers of today.

That’s why we created Sustainability HEROEZ, a program designed to inspire, educate, and empower children and youth (ages 10–18) to take climate action in their schools and communities.

What is Sustainability HEROEZ?

Sustainability HEROEZ is a full-day interactive training program that combines climate education with hands-on activities. Instead of only learning about the environment in theory, participants become active players in building solutions.

Through workshops, eco-crafts, tote bag design, and student-led campaigns, young people graduate as certified Sustainability HEROEZ — equipped to lead their own initiatives in schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.

Why It Matters

Egypt faces urgent environmental challenges, from plastic waste in the Nile to rising temperatures and limited water resources. While these issues seem overwhelming, small consistent actions make a huge difference.

Youth are uniquely positioned to influence their families, peers, and communities.
By giving them the knowledge, skills, and creativity to act, we ensure a ripple effect of positive change.

What Participants Experience

Climate Education Modules: Basics of climate change, SDGs, and Egypt Vision 2030.
DIY & Eco-Crafts: Hands-on workshops in recycling, upcycling, and tote bag creation.
Youth Leadership: Training in teamwork, advocacy, and communication.
Community Action: Student-led campaigns such as clean-ups, awareness drives, and school eco-clubs.
Certification: Each participant becomes a proud Sustainability Hero.
